Lord Krishna is considered to be an incarnation of Lord Vishnu. When we speak about Krishna, there are two forms to understand — one is Krishna, the embodiment of divine love, and the other is Dwarakadheesh, the powerful warrior king.
When the Lord became Dwarakadheesh, He once met His beloved Radha. Krishna asked Radha whether she remembered Him or had forgotten Him. Radha replied, “You are my love. If I remember You and begin to cry, then You would flow out through my tears.”
There are countless such divine moments between them, which cannot be fully described in words.
Simply by reciting the Krishna Ashtakam, a person awakens a deep spiritual emotion within, and their entire energy begins to turn toward positivity. Krishna is the symbol of pure love. If you recite this stotra every morning, you receive the merit equal to the accumulated virtue of many lifetimes.

Vasudeva sutam devam, Kamsa Chāṇūra mardanam
Devakī paramānandam, Krishnaṁ vande Jagadgurum
Meaning:
I bow to Lord Krishna, the son of Vasudeva, who destroyed the evil Kamsa and Chāṇūra, and who brought great joy to Devaki. I worship Krishna, the Guru of the entire universe.

Atasī puṣpa saṅkāśam, hāra nūpura śobhitam
Ratna kaṅkaṇa keyūraṁ, Krishnaṁ vande Jagadgurum
Meaning:
I bow to Krishna, whose complexion is like the blue Atasi flower, adorned with garlands and anklets, and decorated with jewel-studded bracelets and armlets.

Kuṭilālaka saṁyuktaṁ, pūrṇacandra nibhānanam
Vilasat kuṇḍala dharam, Krishnaṁ vande Jagadgurum
Meaning:
I bow to Krishna, whose curly locks shine beautifully and whose face glows like the full moon, and who wears dazzling earrings.

Mandāra gandha saṁyuktaṁ, cāruhāsaṁ caturbhujam
Barhi piñchāva chūḍāṅgaṁ, Krishnaṁ vande Jagadgurum
Meaning:
I bow to Krishna, whose form carries the fragrance of the Mandara flower, who has a charming smile and four arms, and who wears a peacock feather on His crown.

Utphulla padmapatrākṣaṁ, nīla jīmūta sannibham
Yādavānāṁ śiroratnaṁ, Krishnaṁ vande Jagadgurum
Meaning:
I bow to Krishna, whose eyes are like fully bloomed lotus petals, whose complexion resembles a dark raincloud, and who is the crown jewel of the Yadava dynasty.

Rukmiṇī keli saṁyuktaṁ, pītāmbara suśobhitam
Avāpta tulasī gandhaṁ, Krishnaṁ vande Jagadgurum
Meaning:
I bow to Krishna, who enjoys divine play with Rukmini, who is adorned with a radiant yellow garment, and whose body carries the sacred fragrance of tulsi.

Gopikānāṁ kucadvandva kuṅkumāṅkita vakṣasam
Śrīniketaṁ maheṣvāsaṁ, Krishnaṁ vande Jagadgurum
Meaning:
I bow to Krishna, whose chest is marked with the kumkum from the gopis, who is the abode of Goddess Lakshmi, and the wielder of the great bow.

Śrīvatsāṅkaṁ mahoraskaṁ vanamālā virājatam
Śaṅkhacakra dharaṁ devaṁ, Krishnaṁ vande Jagadgurum
Meaning:
I bow to Krishna, whose chest is marked with the sacred Srivatsa symbol, who wears the beautiful forest garland, and who holds the conch and discus.
9. (Phala Shruti)
Kr̥ṣṇāṣṭakam idaṁ puṇyaṁ prātar utthāya yaḥ paṭhet
Koṭi janma kr̥taṁ pāpaṁ smaraṇena vinaśyati
Meaning:
Whoever rises in the morning and recites this sacred Krishna Ashtakam, all the sins accumulated over millions of lifetimes are destroyed simply by remembering the Lord.
कृष्णाष्टकम्
यह माना जाता है कि भगवान कृष्ण, भगवान विष्णु के अवतार हैं। जब हम कृष्ण के बारे में बात करते हैं, तो दो रूपों को समझना ज़रूरी है — एक हैं कृष्ण, जो दिव्य प्रेम के प्रतीक हैं, और दूसरे हैं द्वारकाधीश, जो एक शक्तिशाली योद्धा राजा के रूप में जाने जाते हैं।
जब भगवान द्वारकाधीश बने, एक बार उनकी मुलाकात उनकी प्रिय राधा से हुई। कृष्ण ने राधा से पूछा कि क्या वह उन्हें याद करती हैं या उन्हें भूल गई हैं। इस पर राधा ने उत्तर दिया,
“तुम मेरे प्रेम हो। अगर मैं तुम्हें याद करूँ और रोने लगूँ, तो तुम मेरे आँसुओं के साथ बह जाओगे।”
उन दोनों के बीच ऐसी अनगिनत दिव्य और पवित्र लीलाएँ हैं, जिन्हें शब्दों में पूर्ण रूप से वर्णित करना संभव नहीं है।
केवल कृष्ण अष्टकम का पाठ करने मात्र से व्यक्ति के भीतर गहरी आध्यात्मिक भावना जागृत होने लगती है, और उसकी संपूर्ण ऊर्जा सकारात्मक दिशा में प्रवाहित होने लगती है। कृष्ण शुद्ध प्रेम के प्रतीक हैं। यदि आप इस स्तोत्र का प्रतिदिन प्रातःकाल पाठ करते हैं, तो आपको अनेक जन्मों के संचित पुण्य के बराबर फल प्राप्त होता है।

वसुदेव सुतं देवं, कंस चाणूर मर्दनम् ।
देवकी परमानन्दं, कृष्णं वन्दे जगद्गुरुम् ॥
अर्थ:
मैं भगवान कृष्ण को प्रणाम करता हूँ — जो वसुदेव के पुत्र हैं, जिन्होंने कंस और चाणूर जैसे दुष्टों का संहार किया, और देवकी को अपार आनंद देने वाले हैं। वे सम्पूर्ण जगत के गुरु हैं।

अतसी पुष्प सङ्काशं, हार नूपुर शोभितम् ।
रत्न कंकण केयूरं, कृष्णं वन्दे जगद्गुरुम् ॥
अर्थ:
मैं उस कृष्ण को प्रणाम करता हूँ जिनका रूप अतसी फूल की तरह नीला है, जो सुंदर हार और नूपुर से सुशोभित हैं, और जिनकी भुजाएँ रत्नों से जड़े कंगन और बाजूबंदों से अलंकृत हैं।

कुटिलालक संयुक्तं, पूर्णचन्द्र निभाननम् ।
विलसत कुण्डलधरं, कृष्णं वन्दे जगद्गुरुम् ॥
अर्थ:
मैं कृष्ण को प्रणाम करता हूँ जिनके घुँघराले केश हैं, जिनका चेहरा पूर्णिमा के चन्द्रमा जैसा चमकदार है, और जिनके कानों में चमकते हुए कुण्डल झूल रहे हैं।

मन्दार गन्ध संयुक्तं, चारु हासं चतुर्भुजम् ।
वर्हि पिञ्छावत् चूड़ाङ्गं, कृष्णं वन्दे जगद्गुरुम् ॥
अर्थ:
मैं उस कृष्ण को प्रणाम करता हूँ जिनके शरीर से मन्दार पुष्प की सुगंध आती है, जिनकी मुस्कान अत्यंत आकर्षक है, जिनके चार भुजाएँ हैं, और जिनके मुकुट में मोरपंख सुशोभित है।

उत्फुल्ल पद्मपत्राक्षं, नील जीमूत सन्निभम् ।
यादवानां शिरोरत्नं, कृष्णं वन्दे जगद्गुरुम् ॥
अर्थ:
मैं कृष्ण को प्रणाम करता हूँ जिनकी आँखें खिली हुई कमल की पंखुड़ियों जैसी हैं, जिनका शरीर घने वर्षा-मेघ जैसा श्यामल है, और जो यादव वंश के मणि समान हैं।

रुक्मिणी केलि संयुक्तं, पीताम्बर सुशोभितम् ।
अवाप्त तुलसी गन्धं, कृष्णं वन्दे जगद्गुरुम् ॥
अर्थ:
मैं उस कृष्ण को प्रणाम करता हूँ जो रुक्मिणी के साथ रमणीय लीला करते हैं, जिनका पीताम्बर अत्यंत सुंदर प्रतीत होता है, और जिनके शरीर पर तुलसी की दिव्य सुगंध महकती है।
7.
गोपिकानां कुचद्वन्द्व कुङ्कुमाङ्कित वक्षसम् ।
श्रीनिकेतं महेश्वासं, कृष्णं वन्दे जगद्गुरुम् ॥
अर्थ:
मैं कृष्ण को प्रणाम करता हूँ जिनके वक्षस्थल पर गोपियों के कुंकुम के चिन्ह शोभा देते हैं, जो लक्ष्मीजी का निवास-स्थान हैं, और जो महान धनुर्धर हैं।
8.
श्रीवत्साङ्कं महोरस्कं वनमाला विराजितम् ।
शंखचक्रधरं देवं, कृष्णं वन्दे जगद्गुरुम् ॥
अर्थ:
मैं उस कृष्ण को प्रणाम करता हूँ जिनके वक्षस्थल पर श्रीवत्स चिंह है, जिनके गले में वनमाला शोभा दे रही है, और जो हाथों में शंख और चक्र धारण किए हुए हैं।
9. (फलश्रुति)
कृष्णाष्टक मिदं पुण्यं प्रातरुत्थाय यः पठेत् ।
कोटिजन्य कृतं पापं स्मरणेन विनश्यति ॥
अर्थ:
जो व्यक्ति प्रतिदिन प्रातःकाल उठकर इस पावन कृष्णाष्टक का पाठ करता है, उसके करोड़ों जन्मों के पाप भी केवल कृष्ण का स्मरण करने से नष्ट हो जाते हैं।
