How to prevent for depression

Is depression really a serious disease or just a major problem? It may be considered a serious illness, but why is that so? When we keep thinking about the same thing repeatedly, it gets permanently stuck in our mind, and we call this depression. If we learn to ignore such thoughts, depression will permanently go away, and we will return to being our true selves again.

Before overcoming depression, we must first understand what depression is and why it happens.

As I mentioned in my previous vlog, when a person feels sad, disappointed, or low on energy because of something, people often say that they are suffering from depression.

“At some point in life everyone goes through a phase when a person breaks down, becomes very troubled, and keeps thinking about the same thing over and over — in simple language we call that depression. Or we can say Everyone experiences a phase in life when they feel shattered and deeply distressed, obsessively replaying the same thoughts. Simply put, that’s what we call depression.”

“If we stop thinking then…

“It’s easy to say that we shouldn’t think about what has happened to us, but in reality that’s not possible. The person who has gone through it knows how deeply they were attached to that phase of life, and the pain they experienced cannot be forgotten instantly.”

“There’s a saying that those who keep trying never truly fail. In the same way, if we keep making an effort each day to forget something, then one day will surely come when we finally do.

Until we change our way of thinking — that is, until we remove those thoughts from our mind — we will never be able to pull ourselves out of that phase.

To overcome depression, you can practice yoga, exercise, meditation, and similar activities.

When a person is going through a phase of depression, nothing feels good to them. Their mind is constantly occupied with the same thoughts. This becomes the darkest phase of their life, and sometimes even thoughts of suicide can arise.

“During depression, the mind plays a major role. If we can keep our mind under control during that time, then it is not a serious illness. It is very important to firmly take control of our mind, and by doing so we can completely come out of that phase.

Some basic things will free you from depression.

Do yoga and meditation

Doing yoga and meditation daily keeps the mind calm and reduces negative thoughts. If you practice yoga for 15 to 20 minutes in your daily life, all the negative thoughts from your mind will be cleared. It may feel a bit difficult in the beginning, but once it becomes your routine, you will start feeling really good.

Exercise

Regular exercise brings energy and positivity in the body. By exercising daily, you will experience physical happiness and start feeling relaxed from all tension. You need to exercise for 15–20 minutes every day

Take a balanced diet

Eat healthy food, avoid junk food and excess sugar. You need to pay attention to what you eat and drink. Food also gives good energy to our mind, so always have a balanced diet.

Get enough sleep

Good and complete sleep is necessary for mental health. To keep your body healthy, you should always get proper sleep. Sleep plays a very important role in the human body. Make sure to include at least 8 hours of sleep in your daily routine.

Connect with friends and family

Share your thoughts with someone close, do not stay alone. Always spend time with your family and friends. This will prevent negative thoughts and keep your mind peaceful.

Adopt new hobbies

The more we leave our mind idle, the more negative thoughts will arise. That’s why if we choose a new habit and stay engaged in it, the mind will gradually make that habit its own.

Have a positive thinking

Try to find the good thing in every situation. Always stay with positive thinking. This way, no matter how many negative thoughts arise, they will never become habitual for your mind. So, always stay positive.

Spend time with nature

Morning walk or spending time in the open environment lightens the mind. Whenever you are free, spend time with nature. Stay in a good environment and take in fresh air; this will keep your mind peaceful.

Stay away from social media

Excessive social media can increase depression. Always stay away from social media.

Seek professional help if needed

If the situation is serious, seek help from a psychiatrist or counselor.
